Scientists Denounce AP For Hysterical Global Warming Article

“Scientists from around the world are denouncing an Associated Press article hysterically claiming that global warming is “a ticking time bomb” about to explode, and that we’re “running out of time” to do anything about it.”

The Day After (Inauguration)
By INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY
The Associated Press warns that the new administration won’t have much time to save the planet from a global warming apocalypse. Never mind that the “ticking time bomb” is a dud.
And a clip, just to whet your appetite:
“The satellite record shows the sea level has actually fallen four inches around Tuvalu since 1993…”
“None of this, of course, matters to the warming zealots and some major media outlets. If it’s too dry or too wet, too hot or too cold, everything is caused by global warming. We believe, as do many reputable scientists, that the warming and cooling of the earth is a natural phenomenon dictated by forces beyond our control, from ocean currents to solar activity. We needn’t worry about one day mooring our boats to the Washington Monument.”

“If the hearings show that the fundamental science backing human-caused climate concerns is wrong, or even in serious doubt (as much of it is), then the rest of the debate (tax versus emissions trading, etc) is pointless and they might as well wrap up the testimonies right there.”

The wasteful, corrupt, dictatorship-dominated U.N. may not be successful in fulfilling very many of its supposed objectives — world peace, the end of poverty, mutual understanding, etc. — but when it comes to suppressing contrarian points of view that interfere with official U.N. stances, the organization ranks with the best.
When the United Nations insists that man-made global warming is now proved beyond doubt, it’s practicing one of the few things it has proved itself good at: censorship of dissenting viewpoints.
Now the U.N. is telling the world that only nuts on the fringe question dismantling the global economy to fight global warming. The U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change last year stated that warming was “unequivocal” and “caused by human activity.”

The little white lie that ran amok…
From Jørgen F. (04:16:03) on Watts Up With That?
“In Denmark both our prime minister and our ‘climate minister’(!) have stated clearly that their views on ‘climate change’ is based on ‘expert’ advice from IPCC and specific parts of the scientific community alone.
“They public acknowledge the fact that scientists can have a complete different view of reasons to & levels of climate change in 10 years time. But they see the changes in energy technology as an golden opportunity for Denmark, not matter what scientist say in 10 years from now – We don’t have any car industry, but a huge (Danish huge) wind turbine industry and we are in general fast movers on tech – opportunity knocks!
“The whole European Community (EC) also sees investments in the energy sector as an opportunity to free Europe from Russian or Middle-East energy supplies, and at the same time a way to invest Europe out of the current economical crises with public money.
“So no one really cares about climate – It’s just an opportunity to drive needed changes & investments.”

Pre-industrial CO2 levels were about the same as today. How and why we are told otherwise?
By Dr. Tim Ball Wednesday, December 10, 2008
Canada Free Press
“How many failed predictions, discredited assumptions and evidence of incorrect data are required before an idea loses credibility? CO2 is not causing warming or climate change. It is not a toxic substance or a pollutant. Despite this President Elect Obama met with Al Gore on December 9 no doubt to plan a climate change strategy based on these problems. They make any plan to reduce of CO2 completely unnecessary.
“Proponents of human induced warming and climate change told us that an increase in CO2 precedes and causes temperature increases. They were wrong.”

“In the second sentence of their abstract, Compo and Sardeshmukh tell us “Atmospheric model simulations of the last half-century with prescribed observed ocean temperature changes, but without prescribed GHG changes, account for most of the land warming.” Are they kidding? Remember the Boy Scout helping the little old lady across the road, despite that not being where she wanted to go?
A “mission for good” needs no reality as a base; just a “Gosh, I feel good doing this” feeling inside.
Of course such folk are insufferable; but perhaps better than those who’s mission is to reduce all to their own feelings of personal misery?
“Copenhagen will be the best — and possibly last — chance the world will have to avoid dangerous climate change, as the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has reported to all governments that global greenhouse emissions need to peak and start coming down no later than 2015 to give the world a reasonable chance of avoiding the worst impacts of climate change.
“The current negotiations are set to agree to a new climate treaty starting in 2012, so time is running out.

New US military report on global warming raises worry
Calls theories on the cause ‘contradictory’
By Bryan Bender / Boston Globe / December 6, 2008

Lewis Carroll never even pretended he was writing anything other than nonsense to amuse, not confuse…
However, when challenged as he was on the line below, Mr Carroll provided a blueprint for obfuscation now adhered to scrupulously by those to whom man-made global warming provides a giddy height of reputation and cold, hard cash:
“Then the bowsprit got mixed with the rudder sometimes.”
“If-and the thing is wildly possible-the charge of writing nonsense were ever brought against the author of this brief but instructive poem, it would be based , I feel convinced, on the line (in Fit the Second)
“In view of this painful possibility, I will not (as I might) appeal indignantly to my other writings as a proof that I am incapable of such a deed: I will not (as I might) point to the strong moral purpose of this poem itself, to the arithmetical principles so cautiously inculcated in it, or to its noble teachings in Natural History–I will take the more prosaic course of simply explaining how it happened.” ETC

From the executive summary:
“For several decades now, personnel in our organisation have been working and publishing on matters related to earth’s rising atmospheric carbon dioxide (C02) concentration as they pertain to both the climate and biology of our planet. During the course of that endeavor, we have examined literally thousands of peer-reviewed journal articles, the results of which examination have led us to conclude that increasing atmospheric C02 concentrations will exert a relatively benign influence on earth’s climate, while simultaneously providing manifold benefits to humanity and nature alike.”
